このたび、有名な広島のアニメーションフェスティバルにおいて、コンペティション以外で祖国のアニメーターの作品をご紹介する機会を得たことを光栄に感じている。アルゼンチンのアニメーションの90年間を紹介するこの上映では、世界で初めてアニメーションを発明、制作したクリノ・クリスチャーニのようなパイオニアから、現代の若いアニメーターまでをとりあげる。この観点から、歴史に残るコマーシャルアニメーション、フリーの作家によるアニメーション、他国で大きな商業的成功を収めた長編作品やテレビ向けアニメーションを含めたプログラムを組んだ。作品は全てアルゼンチンで完成されたプロセスと新しいデジタル技術を使って制作されたものである。

今回の特別上映だけでは、アルゼンチンのアニメーション界の歴史的人物を全員紹介することは出来ない。今回紹介出来なかった作品については、今後制作される、アルゼンチンのアニメーションの歴史で取り上げることをお約束する。

現代のコミュニケーション手段であるアニメーションに携われることを大変光栄に感じている。偉大な制作者達と手を取り合ってアニメーション制作スタジオを設立し、お互いに学びの経験を積むことにより、優秀なアーティストと技術者の優れた腕で、スタジオの限界を超える作品を制作することが出来た。既に帰らぬ人となった仲間もいるが、残された者達で手を取り合って夢を追い続けている。

我々はこの50年間、アニメーションの視聴覚作品制作を楽しんできた。独力で、またはチームの一員として日々の仕事をこなし、その報酬を得るなかで、プロとして成長を積み重ねた。構想からキャラクター設定、歌詞、脚本、アニメーション、撮影、ラボでの音付けのモニター作業まで、映画制作の全てをこなせるように育っていったのである。

長年に亘りアニメーター同士の間にも熱い友情が芽生えた。そして、アルゼンチン・アニメーション協会（AACA-ASIFアルゼンチン支部）が生まれた。私は、AACA-ASIFAアルゼンチン支部の代表として、また祖国の才能あふれるアニメーション制作者達の代表として、この特別上映を実施させて頂けることを大変誇りに感じている。

1931年、アルゼンチン共和国首都区域生まれ。汎アメリカ大陸美術学校、エスクエラ・アヘンシア、アルゼンチン映画クラブで学ぶ。
1956年にはプロとしての活動を始め、1964年、プロデューサーとして独立する。1970年には、RAID Mosquito Spray（蚊の殺虫スプレー）用に、企画から製作までを全てアルゼンチン国内で行った初のテレビコマーシャル「Raid Bump」が、ロザリオのコマーシャルフィルム・フェスティバル、TVアニメーション部門において第一位を受賞。その後、このCMは継続的にアルゼンチンで制作されることになった。
1974年には脚本家並びにエグゼクティブプロデューサーとして、アルゼンチン国内及び他の中南米諸国向けコマーシャル用短編作品を手がけた。この間、それらの作品はCLIO最終選考（1977,1979年）含め様々な賞を受賞している。
1982年にはDIANAR社から独立した形でデスプラッツ・シネアニマシオン社が活動を開始し、CM関連と娯楽向けの短編アニメーションを制作。C. トリーリョとRASの歌を使ってCPDと共に1分間の作品「ブエナス・ノチェス・カシミロ」を制作し、アルゼンチンとスペインで成功を収めた。

1988年には、R. W. デスプラッツの協力を得て、デスプラッツ・アソシエーテッド・アニメーターズ社を設立し、アルゼンチンにてデジタル・ポストプロダクション業務を開始する。1995年には、従来形式のスタジオでデジタル３Dアニメの作業を行うという手法によって、パイオニアとしての地位を固める。この手法は現在においても使われている。
1997年以降は、映画大学で、そして2000年からはパレルモ大学でもアニメーション学科の教授として教鞭をとる。 現在は別の長編アニメーション映画の脚本家および制作責任者として、２D技術と３D技術共に取り入れた制作活動を行っている。
